This week the European Tour heads to Wentworth for its flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship, while the PGA Tour travels to Vegas this week, for the first of a double-header in Sin City, at the Shriners Open. Americans are favourites on both sides of the pond as Patrick Reed tees up at Wentworth after finishing T4 on debut last year, and the much discussed, Bryson DeChambeau pegs it up again at the Shriners where he has already won. With such strong favourites in each event, there is some value to be had elsewhere, but it might not be a week to get too cute.

Recap/BMW PGA Championship 00:00 - 1:10:55
Shriners Open 1:10:56 - 1:52:40
Summary and Picks 1:52:41 till close

This week's podcast sees Golf.com's instructional and service columnist, Luke Kerr-Dineen join Tom to discuss Bryson DeChambeau. They discuss; Bryson's bright start to his career, turning from promising amateur to established professional, the ceiling of his driving distance, the potential improvements he can still make, his chances at Augusta and why this current run may well have been a long time coming. With Bryson now joining Golf.com as a contributor, Luke has had a chance to get to know Bryson on a personal level, and gives an insight into the man and the golfer.

This week Tom and Jason break down the fields at the Scottish Open and Sanderson Farms Championship. The Scottish Open is the first Rolex event on the European Tour since the restart, which means a larger prize fund and in turn a better field, as the players battle on the links before heading south next week to Wentworth, for the Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship. At the Sanderson Farms, Scottie Scheffler headlines a mixed field, where a few up-and-comers mix it with a couple of intriguing major champions, and a whole host of PGA Tour veterans in what should be an interesting, but difficult to predict week.

Start/Scottish Open 00:00 - 58:43
Sanderson Farms Championship 58:44 - 1:30:44
Summary and Picks 1:30:45 till close

This week Tom and Jason look at the Irish Open and Corales Championship, two events that have struggled to attract the world's best, due to their slot after the U.S. Open. With that said, there are a couple of standout players headlining each field, so the guys took it upon themselves to find some value further down. Especially in the Corales, where Tom has found a group of 100+/1 selections.

Start/Irish Open 00:00 - 39:22
Corales Championship 39.23 - 1:04:14

Episode 38 - U.S. Open Preview

Tuesday Sep 15, 2020

Tuesday Sep 15, 2020

It’s time for the second of three majors in 2020, as the world’s best pack up and head to Mamaroneck, New York and Winged Foot Country Club for the 120th U.S. Open.Just shy of 7,500 Yards with rough that can penalise you for being just a fraction off the fairway, Winged Foot is sure to provide a tough test, and it would be no surprise to see an over-par winning score again, with Geoff Ogilvy winning the last renewal here at +5 in 2006. Tom and Jason are joined by SportingLife’s, Ben Coley to discuss their favourite picks for the tournament, as well as the chances of those at the head of the betting. With such attractive place terms on offer, is it worth backing some outsiders for each-way money, or is it best to stick to the top of the market? The guys discuss it all in this episode. Please don’t forget to review, share and subscribe to the podcast, to help us grow our audience!

In this week’s Lost Fore Words Podcast we take a look at the Portugal Masters on the European Tour, whilst the new 2020/21 PGA Tour tees off in Napa, California for the Safeway Open. Both events will be low-scoring affairs and with the majority of the world’s best players opting for a week off before next week’s US Open, there could be some surprise names in contention. Tom and Jason give a few picks each in the Portugal Masters, but pick just one each for the Safeway Open in what appears to be a tough event to read.

Start/Portugal Masters 00:00 - 1:10:17
Safeway Open 1:10:18 - 1:47:27
Summary and Picks 1:47:27 till close

Friday Sep 04, 2020

In this episode of the Lost Fore Words podcast, Tom caught up with 2-time PGA Tour winner, Kevin Streelman. Kevin had just wrapped us his week at the BMW Championship and although he didn’t quite make the field at East Lake, Kevin still had plenty to be proud of this year, including two runner-up finishes. From grinding away on the mini tours, to winning twice on the PGA TOUR and representing his country at the World Cup of Golf, it was great to hear about Kevin’s excellent career to date.

*COMPETITION PODCAST*In this episode of the Lost Fore Words podcast, Tom caught up with CEO and Co-Founder of Arccos Golf - Sal Sayed. Sal talks about Arccos’ latest Strokes Gained update, which enables users to access strokes-gained statistics at a level even deeper than that available to players on the PGA Tour. This data will provide golfers with the data they need to reduce their handicaps, and break it down into the top-3 insights after each round to improve. If you’re a 20-handicapper, looking to get down to a 15 for example, Arccos will give you the specific areas you need to improve. You may well be surprised by the areas of your game that you need to improve, but also where you may be playing better than your target handicap. As a high-handicap player, Tom found the data Arccos gave him extremely helpful in his quest to lower his handicap and discusses these on the show. *To have a chance to win your own set of Arccos Smart Caddie Sensors (worth £169.99) see our latest tweet on @LostForePod for details.*
