This week we only have one event to preview, as the PGA Tour heads to Pebble Beach. Will Dustin Johnson romp home as a short-price favourite this week or can one from the pack come and get the job done, as we have seen in recent years with Ted Potter Jr and last year with Nick Taylor? We recap an exciting week on both Tours as well, discussing the highs and lows for the likes of Tony Finau, Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele.
As ever we highly recommend you check out Tour-Tips.com for all the relevant statistics required to make informed selections each week. Look to the website for membership details.

In the first of a new mini-series, Patrick Koenig joins the podcast to give listeners an insight into why he loves Golf. In terms of life experience, Patrick has it in bundles and early in his adult life, Patrick realised something had to change. He had to face up to the fact he was an alcoholic, and faced a 7-year battle. Since then, he has turned his obsessive personality from a negative into a positive, and now is life of the party on and off the golf course, without touching a drop of alcohol since 2005. In 2018, Patrick set off on a year-long journey, starting the "RGV Tour." 365 Days playing golf, 405 - Golf Courses played, 793 - New Friends made, 20,000 - Dollars raised for "The First Tee" and 35,576 Miles spent in his RV, Patrick had the time of his life living out every Golfers' dreams. Hear him talk about his experiences travelling around the United States; playing golf, making friends, raising money and shooting incredible photography. Since then he has had opportunities to turn his passion into work and play golf with legends such as Bill Murray among others. Plenty to unpack here, and a perfect guest to let us know why he loves golf!

Episode 58 - Sony Open Preview

Tuesday Jan 12, 2021

Tuesday Jan 12, 2021

This week, Tom and Jason were joined by Martin Mathews, commonly known as SundogMonkey on Twitter, as they breakdown last week’s events at the Tournament of Champions, and look ahead to this week at the Sony Open. With back-to-back starts in Hawaii considered a significant advantage, do you need to play it safe and take one of the 30-odd players in the field this week that teed it up at Kapalua, or does it pay to look at some lovely outsiders at a course known to throw up a few surprises?
As ever we highly recommend you check out Tour-Tips.com for all the relevant statistics required to make informed selections each week. Free-to-access until 17th January, now is a perfect opprobrium to get a taste of what you can expect from a subscription.

This week Jason and Tom were joined by Mike Miller of SmartGolfBets. The guys discussed the previous season, how COVID-19 affected players differently and assessing who struggled and who played best under the conditions. All three picked a player to look out for in 2021, and had brief looks at the upcoming majors, before finally picking bets for this week’s Tournament of Champions.
Tom and Jason would also like to bring your attention to tour-tips.com, their go-to site for all things golf. You can enjoy a two week free-to-access period until 17th January to get an idea as to why we rely on this site for key information.

Episode 56 - Dale Whitnell

Sunday Dec 13, 2020

Sunday Dec 13, 2020

Ten years after turning professional in 2009, Dale Whitnell won the 2019 KPMG Trophy, shooting -23 under par thru the last three rounds and outlasting Laurie Canter in a playoff. That alone was not enough to secure a European Tour card for 2020, so it was a trip to Q-School - an all too familiar setting for Dale. A positive outcome that week saw Dale make his way onto the European Tour full-time for the first time in his career, and after a tough start, Dale came out of the restart in great form. Listen to Dale talk about the highs and lows of his golf career so far, ranging from a stellar amateur career, the 2009 Walker Cup, mini tours, that week at Q-school, and much, much more.  At just 31 years of age, the best of his career is still in front of him and it was great to hear how positive he is about his form this year and what is to come in 2021 and beyond.

Monday Dec 07, 2020

The season-ending DP World Tour Championship is upon us, as is our last betting preview of 2020.
Patrick Reed will be looking for a good week to seal the Race to Dubai title, but with Tommy Fleetwood on his heels, he cannot afford to have a bad week.
With a lot of the players coming over from the nearby Fire Course last week, will that be an advantage? Andy Sullivan was in fine form thru three rounds last week and maybe should have won but Frenchman, Antoine Rozner stole the show with a closing 64, and he will hope to make another step up this week.
