This week, Matt Cooper joins the podcast to discuss the first major of 2021, the ANA Inspiration.
The first of five majors on the Women’s Golf Calendar, this event reverts to its familiar slot, after it was last year moved to September due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19.
In what will be the 50th renewal of the event, and the 39th time it is contested as a major, many will be hoping for a dramatic finish. Last year, Mirim Lee outlasted two of the game’s brightest talents in Brooke Henderson and Nelly Korda in a playoff, making it the fourth time in the last six years this event has been decided by extra holes.
The event was not without controversy in 2020, with the famous “blue wall” housed behind the 18th green, which took a lot of the danger out of the hole.  This year the wall is gone, and the hole will play differently once again.
With her win last week and previous victory at the course, Inbee Park comes in as the favourite, closely followed by Jin Young Ko, Hyo Joo Kim and Nelly Korda. With some very familiar names also lurking, with a mix of great current and course form, this is sure to be an exciting spectacle, and one that should not be missed.

This week the European Tour returns after a 5-week absence, and the Qatar Masters looks like a wide-open event. With Tom and Jason both agreeing on a favourite bet at 100/1, it could be a week for the longshots to prosper.
Over on the PGA Tour it’s time for the “fifth major” as the best in the world tee it up for the PLAYERS Championship. It’s hard to pin down a favourite for this event, which is so volatile year-on-year, but we have a group of picks we are happy with between us.

We talk about the need for better inclusion right through from junior to the professional game, and why the women’s game should have more of a spotlight.

Tom and Jason were joined by Martin Mathews (@SundogMonkey on Twitter) this week, to break down one of the most recognisable events on the schedule - the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Can Rory McIlroy find that missing piece in his game, and get back in the Winners’ Circle on a course he loves, or can an outsider get the job done?
A great field, with plenty of players to keep an eye on ahead of next week’s Players Championship.
