This week the podcast returns after a week-long absence, and we are previewing the Portugal Masters and the WWT Championship @ Mayakoba.
Two events with rich history and huge amounts of course or correlative form to peruse, this feels like one of those weeks where we can get a strong grasp of what to expect on the week.
In Portugal Matt Wallace is the favourite ahead of Laurie Canter, while over in Mexico, Justin Thomas edges out defending champion, Viktor Hovland for favouritism in what looks to be a stacked field.

Two difficult events to get excited about, and two that are potentially difficult to navigate, we have tried to find some value, particularly in the ZOZO where the favourites are rightly a short price.
The Mallorca Open sees the Tour return to this region for the first time in 10 years and this course for the first time since 1998.
On the PGA Tour, they return to Japan for the first time since this event back in 2019 when Tiger Woods famously picked up his most recent victory, ahead of home favourite Hideki Matsuyama. With the likes of Sungjae Im and Paul Casey withdrawing, the top of the market is thinning out, so middle of the board and down is where the decisions need to be made.
With all the picks across both events 28/1 or bigger, there’s some value to be had this week, if you are happy to take on the favourites.

This week we return to Jason’s favourite Tour stop, Valderrama, where Jon Rahm is once again an overwhelming favourite. He didn’t have a great weekend in Spain last weekend, so will look to put that right on this famed golf course, where he already has a runner-up finish to his name.
On the other side of the pond, it’s another week in Sin City as a 78-man field has assembled for the CJ Cup. They head to The Summit this week, another Tom Fazio layout, and with little knowledge of the course and a consensus outright selection, we don’t have too much to say on this event.
An array of selections in Spain though, it will be great to see one of the best courses take centre stage on the European Tour.

It’s our 100th episode and we tie it in with a preview of the Open de Espana, where Jon Rahm is an overwhelming favourite and the Shriners Open where the market can’t decide who’s going to win.
After selecting 100/1 Danny Willett last week, we try to continue the form with a consensus 50/1 selection in the Open de Espana, and a plethora of long shots in Vegas. Vegas is the ultimate gambling city, where everyone dreams of getting lucky and winning big, and this golf tournament fits in perfectly.
Thanks to all the listeners who have joined us on this journey to 100 episodes, you make this show what it is!

Jason Sobel of The Action Network joined the podcast to discuss the 43rd Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits. Why did Europe perform so poorly? Were USA simply too good? Does Steve Stricker deserve more of the credit than he is getting? Tom and Jason discuss this and much more in this episode. Also toward the end of the show is a discussion on Rory McIlroy and what might be going on with the man from Northern Ireland. Seemingly a victim of his own success, much more is expected of McIlroy than he's produced in recent years and given the seven-year break since his last major victory, it looks like something needs to change for Rory as he enters what appears to be the second chapter of his career. At 32, Rory should be hitting the peak of his career, so there's plenty of time for a change in fortunes and we all hope that will be the case sooner rather than later.

This week the European Tour returns to the Alfred Dunhill Links, which perhaps come as others on each Ryder Cup side would perhaps come over if it wasn’t a week after the big event.
Three of the five favourites this week at the Dunhill must be emotionally drained after such a tough week at Whistling Straits and it’ll be interesting to see who of the European contingent can put last week behind them both here and in the Sanderson Farms Championship, where Sergio Garcia is looking to contend.
The Sanderson Farms gives us another look at the recent graduates from the Korn Ferry Tour, while also providing a perfect platform for some more experienced PGA Tour members, who are still looking for their maiden victory.

This week, we briefly recap a special win for Kristoffer Broberg at the Dutch Open, before taking a deep dive into the Ryder Cup, from both a historical and current viewpoint. Matt Cooper joins and as ever he comes armed with a tonne of information and quotes from an abundance of interviews and journalistic pieces, including his own interviews with Padraig Harrington and Tony Jacklin.
Will the USA side set a new tone for the Ryder Cup this week, as, as many as six of the side are rookies and three more made their debuts in Paris three years ago. This young side will be keen to shed the pain from previous Ryder Cups and forge their own history, led by more experienced Ryder Cuppers in Dustin Johnson (6 appearances) and Jordan Spieth (3 appearances). We talk suitable pairings for both sides while also establishing how hard it is to get into the mind of a Ryder Cup captain.

This week we preview the Dutch Open, which seems a far removed from last week’s BMW PGA Championship, and the first event in the new PGA Tour season, the Fortinet Championship - previously the Safeway Open. Martin Matthews, better knows as @SundogMonkey on Twitter, joined us for this part of the show as well.

This week, the flagship European Tour event, the BMW PGA Championship gets its own slot, with the PGA Tour on a week's break after ending last week at the Tour Championship. A lot of players make plenty of appeal this week, as is often the case in these deeper fields and it's a case of picking the very best of the value available. Another layer to this event is the possibility for players to grab the last spot on the Ryder Cup or put themselves in contention for one of Padraig Harrington's final Wildcard Picks. Harrington will submit his final team after the conclusion of this event.
At the end of the podcast we discuss some possible additions we can make to the podcast going forward, and we would love your feedback on these.

Jason returns from his holiday in time to preview the last event of the PGA Tour season, the Tour Championship and we discuss the new course for the Italian Open, and who we think is value in both events.
It’s crunch time in the FedEx Cup, there’s Ryder Cup spots that need to be settled and it’s getting to a very strong part of the European Tour schedule, so there’s plenty to look forward to this week, and lots of decisions to be made.
We also end the show with a discussion on Bryson DeChambeau and the abuse and receptions he receives.
